Dambe recuses herself in P1.9m lawsuit

Gaborone High Court Judge, Leatile Dambe has recused herself in a case in which the government is demanding P1.9 million from its former employee, David William. Dambe stated her reason on Tuesday, saying that she had prosecuted William before in the same case when criminal charges were laid against the former employee.

At the time Dambe was chief prosecutor at the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

“In the interest of justice, I will have to recuse myself from the case as I once prosecuted the applicant when he was first charged,” she said.
