As cross-border small stock rustlers along the borderline remain a thorn on the farmers' side, about 25 goats were recovered in a cross-border operation in Lichtenburg, a North West province town in South Africa (SA).

Ramatlabama police are pleading with farmers with missing goats along the border to come to the station as soon as possible to identify their beasts currently kraaled in Lichtenburg. Ramatlabama Police station commander, superintendent Zibani Mbisana said they suspect the goats might have been stolen either on Thursday or Friday in villages along the borderline.

“We suspect that they might have been stolen either in Rakhuna, Tlhareseleele, Pitsane Molopo, Ramatlabama and Ditharapa villages respectively. With the help of South African police through our joint cross-border operation, we managed to recover the stolen goats,” Mbisana said.
