FRANCISTOWN: Two police officers who were arrested along with two accomplices in an alleged robbery case were granted bail today by the Magistrate's Court.

According to the charge sheet, the police officers, Leatile Scotch, 39, and Tshidiso Serero, 41, and an unemployed Edwin Othusitse, 41, acting in concert and with a common purpose allegedly robbed a Chinese man Liyu Wu of $4,000 along Blue Jacket Street on February 7. The trio allegedly meted out violence on Wu to dispossess him of his money, about P52,000.

Magistrate Tshepo Magetse granted the accused bail on condition that they each sign their recognisance in the sum of P2,000, should each bring two sureties who shall bind themselves with P2,000, not interfere with witnesses, attend court as and when required to do so, report at Central Police Station once every Friday, and shall not be reasonably suspected of committing offences whilst on bail. The accused are represented by attorney Tshekiso Tshekiso.
