Cllrs scoff at Presidential task team composition

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Councillors in the copper-nickel mining town have scoffed at the composition of the Presidential Inspectorate Task Team saying that it defeats the spirit of youth empowerment.

They said only retired politicians who were rejected by their electorate made the team and that it was a "poverty eradication" scheme for the retired politicians. The miffed councillors were speaking in a full council meeting Wednesday saying that the team comprised mainly of retired top government officials without youth who need to be empowered.

The task team led by former minister, Peter Siele addressed councillors to monitor service delivery and effective implementation of programmes.
