Cllrs reject motion to name airport after Masisi

FRANCISTOWN: A motion to name the new Francistown International Airport after the late Francistown West Member of Parliament (MP) Tshelang Walter Masisi has been rejected.

The motion to name the airport  after the late Masisi was moved by Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) councillor for Monarch East Raoboy Mpuang at the on-going full council meeting held at the Francistown City Council this week.

Councillors, especially those from the opposition rejected the motion saying that it was too soon after Masisi’s passing and that the family was still in mourning.
