Chinese youth forge ties with Batswana

A six-member delegation from Beijing, China is in Botswana to forge working relations with the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture and the Botswana National Youth Council (BNYC).

The Chinese delegation, which is led by the vice-president of the Beijing Youth Federation (BYF) Deng Yaping, arrived on Monday and was treated to a welcoming dinner at Bull & Bush Restaurant in Gaborone. 

The relations were formalised yesterday when BYF and BNYC signed a Memorandum of Agreement at Sedibeng Lodge. BNYC expects to benefit financially from what the visitors say is the first such agreement with any youth organisation outside China.
