BEIJING: China’s aspirations of becoming the world’s leading international hub is on course as the country has embarked on a major national project for the Beijing New Airport expected to be fully operational by 2022 in time for the Olympic Games.

The airport, which is taking shape as construction is up and running, has been positioned as the largest international airport hub projected to receive a total of 100 million passengers annually as a long term plan, 620,000 aircraft movements, cargo and mail throughput of four million tons.

Accordingly the project, which is a landmark project of Beijing and a new power house of national development, it is a high design technological project that is being built to ensure safety from earthquakes and also has green site to fight pollution.
