Child abuse cases worry GC mayor

The mayor of Gaborone City Council, Austin Abraham has expressed concern over the rising number of social ills in the capital.

Addressing councillors at a full council meeting recently, Abraham highlighted it was reported that 41 cases of child abuse were being handled, including defilement, rape, and child negligence.

“Marital discord, family problems, and intimate relationship [conflict] cases are also on the rise. I plead with the public to refrain from such acts and make it a habit to report such issues to take appropriate action against the perpetrators,” he said.
