Charged SSKM teachers appear in court

Three Sir Seretse Khama Memorial (SSKM) Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers charged with unlawful administration of corporal punishment have finally appeared before court.

The three were supposed to appear last Tuesday, but did not, because the state failed to file their papers on time.

Faced with a single count of the above stated charge,the trio appeared before Broadhurst Magistrates Court yesterday (Thursday). Court revealed that on the 26th of September 2021 at SSKM JSS in Block 3, Gaborone, the three teachers acting jointly with common purpose unlawfully administrated corporal punishment to six students, two females and four males. The teachers will appear again before court on May 19, 2023.
