Caprivi ghost returns to haunt Botswana, Namibia

The legal and political standoff pitting 900 Namibian refugees against their motherland and their host nation Botswana, has resurrected the highly divisive ghosts of the Struggle for Africa, prickly regional relations and a conflict many had forgotten was still running. Staff Writer, MBONGENI MGUNI, reports

“Does Botswana really want to help our people to go to their death? I don’t think so. Botswana has been a haven of peace and democracy and they have helped many people.

“Someone, somewhere is trying to tarnish Botswana’s name by involving it in this type of arrangement.  Botswana has received a lot of people running away from wars and political persecution and they cannot stop now.”
