Businesswoman behind bars for pedestrian's death

FRANCISTOWN: The police are investigating an incident in which a 37-year-old female motorist hit and caused the death of a 34-year-old male pedestrian.

Kutlwano Police Station commander, Neo Serumola confirmed that they have arrested the woman after the pedestrian's death along Marimavu Road. Marimavu Road is along the Tati River Lodge, stretching towards the traffic lights opposite Block 1.

Serumola said the businesswoman, who was driving a Nissan Elgrand, hit the male pedestrian at around 6am on Thursday. He said the pedestrian was taken to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital where he passed away in the wee hours of Friday. “Investigations are still at a preliminary stage and we are still yet to find out what exactly transpired,” he added.
