Business rises to save Phikwe

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the country’s leading parastatals have pledged to help Selebi-Phikwe from the grim future caused by the collapse of BCL Mine.

In a meeting with the business community, the leaders of the state-owned agencies said they would work to stimulate the private sector to fill the vacuum left by the Mine’s demise.

Botswana Investment and Trade Centre CEO Letsebe Sejoe said the agency had identified 30 companies in South Africa who want to do business in Botswana.  “I will offer Selebi-Phikwe as one of the locations for them to set up,” he said.
