Broadhurst police investigate murder-suicide

Police are investigating a case in which two bodies were discovered Saturday morning at Rramodibe Lands on the outskirts of Matebeleng village in what is believed to be a murder-suicide.

Confirming the investigation, Broadhurst Police Station commander, Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae said they received the report at around 7:30am after a passerby saw a woman lying in a pool of blood and reported the matter to the police.

“On arrival at the crime scene, the police found the 22-year-old woman with multiple wounds on the head suspected to have been occasioned by slashing with a sharp object,” he said. “About five to six metres away from her, police discovered a 26-year-old man believed to be her boyfriend hanging from a tree suspected to have committed suicide.
