Breastfeeding is a key element in poverty eradication, president of the Botswana Breastfeeding Association (BOBA) Dikoloti Morewane has said.

Speaking during the launch of the breastfeeding tour scheduled by the Ministry of Health for this week, Morewane urged politicians and dikgosi to  encourage breastfeeding as a key element in poverty eradication.

She said that breast milk is a wholesome meal that can protect newborns and young children from malnutrition, cough, diarrhoea outbreaks, excessive weight and many other diseases commonly associated with babies.
