FRANCISTOWN: A man accused of stabbing a police officer on the cheek appeared in court on Friday to face an assault charge.

According to the charge sheet, Olebogeng Bayani, 34, allegedly stabbed Constable Thabang Kaisara with a knife on January 14, 2022, at Gerald Estates. The police report states that during the escort to Bayani's residence for the search, he entered the house and proceeded to stab Kaisara on the cheek with a knife before fleeing. He was later apprehended in Selebi-Phikwe on Thursday.
