BPP spokesperson in court for theft

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana Peoples Party’s (BPP) spokesperson Thabani Peter appeared in court on Tuesday on five counts of stealing by servant.

In the first, second and third counts, Peter is alleged to have stolen money totalling P1, 500 (P500 in each case) belonging to Kenneth Obeng Attorneys on July 20, 26 and 30 in 2010. He was then employed by the firm as a paralegal officer.

On August 16, 2010, Peter is alleged to have stolen P10,000 from the law firm, and on the 30th of the same month, pocketed P600.
