Boyfriend turned conman stands trial

FRANCISTOWN: Two men appeared before Principal Magistrate Dumisani Basupi Tuesday this week facing charges of obtaining by false pretenses. The prosecution says Moabi Sebiletso, 25, and Moses Mapika, 26, took P24,000 from Sebiletso's girlfriend by tricking her in July last year that they would increase the money.

At the time of the incident, the duo’s victim was working at Dumela Filling Station as a stock taker. Prosecutor Mongisto Chigala called the first state witness, Kgomotso Butale, the victim, to narrate the facts of what happened before and during the day of the incident.

She said on the day in question, Sebiletso entered the shop, bought a Coca-cola can and asked her for her mobile number.
