Botswana's 2011 VIPS in criticism

The United States of America First Lady, Michelle Obama's visit to Botswana in June as part of her goodwill visit to Sub-Sahara will be largely remembered for 'doing as she says not as she does'.

The First Lady of fashion and style is renowned for widely speaking about the dangers of children eating too much fatty foods with her campaign for better nutrition. However, she was captured by cameras in the second leg of the visit (Saturday) in Borakanelo restaurant in Mochudi sampling fat cakes and French fries. The Western media has slashed her for setting double standards.

With a fully packed schedule, among other activities she helped paint a mural at Baylor Clinic that cares for children infected with HIV/AIDS. She also had a luncheon with women leaders from different generations and disciplines and also paid a courtesy call on President Ian Khama. During their meeting, Khama supported the adoption of the United Nations Security Council Resolution that sanctioned the establishment of a no-fly zone in Libya. He said the resolution was well-intended and urged all states to stand by it.
