SOWA TOWN: The assistant minister of Health, Dr Alfred Madigele said a recent report published by Lancet HIV, rated Botswana as the world’s best country in the treatment and containment of the virus that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

The assistant minister revealed this recently during a wellness day by Botswana Ash (Botash), which engaged the whole community in an endeavour to promote healthy behaviours and improve health outcomes in society.

Madigele indicated that the report shows that Botswana has exceeded goals for addressing the Human Immune Virus (HIV) crisis and is well ahead of the deadline of 2020 set by the United Nations.
