BOT50 unveils P14m campaign

The BOT50 celebration organisers will spend P14 million on a production, which will see 400 Batswana take to the stage with events celebrating Botswana’s progress from 1966 to date. BOT50 coordinator, Charity Kgotlafela told journalists yesterday that the dance and theatre production tender has been awarded to Red Pepper and nationwide auditions will be held from May 28.

Government has set aside a budget of P100 million for the overall BOT50 campaign, but officials yesterday declined to reveal how much had been spent or allocated thus far. Kgotlafela however said the money was not enough.

“The financial year just began. We will update you after the first quarter. What we have been awarded is not enough and we call on the private sector to help us make this a success,” she said.
