The Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) has come out to defend students enrolled through the Back-to-School progamme as not the perpetrators of the recent uprisings experienced in some schools.

This was after teachers had blamed students who are admitted to secondary schools after obtaining grade D and through the Back-to-School programme for being perpetrators in the recent uprisings in schools.

A teacher at Gaborone Senior Secondary School (GSS) where 26 students have been suspended following incidents of indiscipline and use of drugs in school said that most of the implicated students are not gifted academically.
