FRANCISTOWN: Francistown West legislator, Ignatius Moswaane’s reported stance that action should be taken against primary school teachers whose pupils attain a pass mark of less than 80% has attracted criticism from some key education stakeholders.

Moswaane was recently widely quoted in the media emphasising that teachers whose pupils are doing standard one to four should be subjected to intense scrutiny and stern action if their pupils do not attain a minimum 80% pass mark.

Moswaane is alleged to have said that 80% is an efficient mark that many countries have set and Botswana should follow the trend.
