BOPRITA, BOPRITU case not final

The Lobatse High Court on Friday postponed the case between Botswana Primary Teachers Association (BOPRITA) and its offspring the Botswana Primary Teachers Union (BOPRITU) to June 28.

Justice Isaac Lesetedi will hear the matter again when lawyers for both parties make submissions on June 28. On Friday the two lawyers, Duma Boko for BOPRITA and Batsho Nthoi who is representing BOPRITU, briefed the judge in his chambers about a joint meeting of the two organisations held last Saturday. 

The meeting sanctioned by court resolved that BOPRITA should not be incorporated into BOPRITU. However BOPRITU members had walked out in protest that the elections were not free and fair.
