BOPEU Writes Off Loans

It is not all despair for the dismissed workers who participated in the public sector strike as the Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU) is expected to write off loans amounting to P500,000 in recognition of the challenges faced by the debtors.

BOPEU has also resolved to pay the subscriptions of those affected until they find sources of income.

At the BOPEU fourth Annual General Convention in Palapye this Saturday, loans amounting to P500,000 given to almost one hundred dismissed members are anticipated to be written off, provided the convention reaches a consensus on the decision made by the executive.
