The Public Service Bargaining Council (PSBC) may never be the same again, as the nation awaits Industrial Court Judgement today on the case filed by the Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU).

Interestingly, following the interim order handed by the court a fortnight ago, the PSBC, which is the most affected party, along with its secretary general, chose to join the Director of the Public Service and the Attorney General in not opposing the final order to be handed by the same court.

Industrial Court Judge President Tebogo Maruping last week expressed that it would be unfair for trade unions with smaller numbers to be allowed at the bargaining table at the expense of a trade union with very high representation such as BOPEU.
