BOMAWU cautions �biased� journalists

The Botswana Media and Allied Workers Union (BOMAWU) has called on journalists to desist from receiving bribes and being biased in their reporting.

BOMAWU interim president Philemon Mmeso said during the union’s inaugural press conference yesterday that they are worried by influx of reports that journalists are being used to write biased stories.

“I can’t confirm that this is indeed happening, but there can never be smoke without fire. We used to have just the government complaining of stories, nowadays it has spread to unions and political parties amongst other organisations, that journalists are biased towards them and that others are paid to publish lies,” he said.
