Boko's bid for BNF presidency quashed, for now...

The Botswana National Front (BNF) taskforce ruling that vetted out Duma Boko from the party presidency has cast aspersions on the neutrality of the party politburo.

Some BNF members indicated to Mmegi that the decision to investigate and the ruling arrived at by the two-man taskforce is suspect.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a highly placed BNF member said they are worried that some of the people in the central committee are contesting for the elections, while vice-president Olebile Gaborone is contesting for the same position as Boko. Another presidential candidate is Gabriel Kanjabanga. The politburo decided on the matter of Boko's membership where he is accused of being a founding member of the National Democratic Front party.

Mmegi sought to know from party spokesman, Moeti Mohwasa, how the verdict to vet out Boko was arrived at.
