Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions has issued a statement expressing concern at the death of four BCL mine workers last Sunday.

“On Monday 30th May, the country once again woke up to some shocking and horrifying news that atleast four employees of the BCL mine perished in an accident that left six other seriously injured. As BOFEPUSU we are deeply worried and very much disturbed by the fact that such accidents and the accompanying loss of lives of workers has become a common occurrence at the BCL,” the statement read.

It said that working at BCL has become a nightmare that is not only a glaring risk to the workers, but also traumatized them to core when they enter the shafts.
