BNF councillors resign from Audit Committee

MAHALAPYE: Three Botswana National Front (BNF) councillors have resigned from the Audit Committee in protest at the way some committees are being run within the Mahalapye Sub-District Council that falls under the Central District Council (CDC).

The three councillors are Timothy Mmopi of Mookane, Mogalakwe Mogalakwe of Mosolotshane and Boetelo Keokhubametse of Shoshong North.  The three have indicated that during committee elections, the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) members used their numerical strength to elect themselves into strategic committees hence they were elected to the Audit Committee.

They are also not happy that while various Sub council committees meet almost every month, the Audit Committee meets only once in three months.
