Blustery Rainstorm Devastates Mahalapye

A violent hailstorm that devastated Mahalapye has brought minor flooding that has caused electric outages in some areas and left many cars with broken windows.

The rain started pouring on Saturday night, but not heavily.  It was later on at around 3pm that the thunderstorms became violent.  The downpour resumed with gusty winds and then dropped heavy hailstones that shuttered car windows for close to an hour.

Heavy thundershowers ensued after the hailstorm and caused flooding mostly on the roads around the village and left some homesteads and the bus rank submerged in water.
