BLLAHWU members lose Court case

Three members of Central Executive Committee of Botswana Land Boards Local Authorities and Health Workers Union (BLLAHWU) lost a court case against the labour movement and Ketlhalefile Motshegwa, Secretary General.

The three are Nicholas Mothelesi (first vice president), Boemo Bato (second vice president) and Baone Seloka (treasurer general). They are now embattled as they have lost the case with costs. Furthermore, they are likely to face disciplinary hearing for taking the union to court disregarding and bypassing its structures.

It is believed that members are up in arms and unhappy with the trio for bringing the name of the union into disrepute through the court matter. “By taking the union to court, the three actually took themselves to Court as they are the leaders of the union. This is against the spirit of good governance where people will sit in a meeting in their official capacity and later use that information to litigate in their personal capacity against the Union,” a BLLAHWU member in good standing said.
