BIUST urged to educate the community on technology

PALAPYE: The permanent secretary in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), Theophilus Mooko has encouraged Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) to communicate and educate the community about their radio telescopes and PC lab projects.

Mooko was speaking recently at BIUST campus during the unveiling of the projects that are secured and installed through the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Interferometry dishes.

He stated that it is important to communicate and educate the community about the projects and convince them to appreciate technology. “You ought to understand that there are certain challenges in our community, since you brought up these two projects people will question whether your dishes will resolve those. Natives will ask if they would get access in terms of radio stations and mobile networks because they are experiencing problems with such, especially at the hotels like Majestic Five,” said Mooko.
