"We are being futuristic because we know this project is going to happen. We want to establish an institution of the highest calibre. We must start on the right footing so that nothing goes wrong which might end up costing us thousands of pulas to change perspectives of people," said Minister of Education, Jacob Nkate, at the launch.
The founding Vice Chancellor of BIUST, Professor Kweku Bentil said each of the elements in the selected logo is symbolic of the mission of BIUST. He indicated that the atom represents the scientific research focus of BIUST while the cogwheel represents the technology focus.
