BIUST students resume classes after two-day boycott

PALAPYE: Botswana International University of Science & Technology (BIUST) came to a standstill on Friday when students protested against the management’s change of academic calendar which might result in seven months of no school.

The two-day strike that commenced on Friday saw a large group of protesting students staging marches and sit-ins across the campus, largely targeting entrances and exit gates.

BIUST spokesperson, Keoagile Rafifing, told Mmegi yesterday that the situation was calm and students were back in classes.
