The 2023 BGCSE examinations that were recently postponed for two weeks will now resume.

This was revealed by Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) Chairperson, Dr Olefile Molwane at a media briefing this afternoon.

"We have uplifted the suspension of BGCSE examinations with immediate effect. The examinations time table has now been finalised and exams will begin on November 1st to December 7th 2023. The time table will start with papers that were not compromised and will be written in two phases. Phase 1 will run from November 1st to November 23rd and Phase 2 which is the replacement of papers that were compromised will run from November 23rd to December 7th," Molwane said.

BGCSE examinations were temporarily suspended after it was discovered that 19 papers were leaked. While no one has been formally charged, about 16 people being six adults and 10 learners were taken for questioning over the matter and they still being investigated.
