As part of choosing quality candidates, Tsholetsa House, the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) headquarters has embarked on an extensive vetting process for primary election candidates, with many different factors being considered.

The process includes checking for active membership, criminal records, and other requirements. Mmegi has learnt that all applications for those who want to contest for party primary elections have reached Tsholetsa office and are already being sorted per recommendations from branch committees. Some of the factors that are looked into critically are whether an applicant did show an expression of interest when they were required to do so by the party last year in November.
