BDP structures collapse in Tati East

FRANCISTOWN: As part of the exodus to the newly formed Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) in the Tati East constituency, a whole Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) ward committee of 18 members has resigned.

The BDP Tsamaya ward committee is resigning in solidarity with the area civic leader, Reginald Mudongo who resigned on Monday from the BDP to join the BMD. More bad news is expected from BDP Tati East as more operatives and party structures are reportedly readying themselves to depart the BDP.

Tati East MP, Guma Moyo was the first to be expelled from the party a few months ago, after failing to honour the BDP disciplinary hearing. His main offence was that he had participated in a meeting that was not sanctioned by the BDP. Mudongo joined the BMD because among others he says the BDP structures in the entire Tati East constituency have collapsed making life difficult for him and his colleagues to operate effectively in the BDP.
