BDP, Save For The Toxins, Is Very Much Alive

Four decades ago, the founding fathers of what would become the Botswana Democratic Party, popularly known as Domkrag, gathered under a Morula tree in Gaborone to start what some suggest is now ending.
In passing, it may be necessary to note that another version is that the BDP was formed, not under a tree in Gaborone but in Mahalapye. The pretender tree is supposed to have stood on a parcel of land that now accommodates a recreational park for village youth. Whatever happened, the thing to remember is that what is factual in history often struggles to see the light of day from under flavour-enhancing lashings of fiction.
