Moshupa was painted red yesterday (Wednesday) as dozens of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) members bade farewell to President Mokgweetsi Masisi's late mother, Precious Masego Masisi also known as Mma Tshelang.

Through the occasion, the BDP hosted a memorial service for Mma Tshelang, 95, who was also wife to former legislator, the late Sethomo Masisi and mother to the late Francistown West legislator, Tshelang Masisi. It was revealed that Mma Tshelang was a staunch member of the BDP and served as chairperson of the party's women’s wing in Moshupa for 15 years.

She was also a dressmaker who would outfit BDP members in Moshupa for free. Speakers at the event spoke highly of her invaluable contributions to the party, especially in the Moshupa area, including distributing oranges around the constituency for branches to help raise funds for the party.
