Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) councillor, Charles Mponang has dragged the assistant minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Phillip Makgalemele to court after a fallout over the purchase of a vehicle.

Mponang, Kalamare ward councillor, has filed a suit against Makgalemele, who is also MP for Shoshong, claiming breach of contract following a purchase agreement for a motor vehicle.  According to the particulars of Mponang’s claim, an oral agreement was entered into in April 2014 for him to buy the Toyota vehicle from Makgalemele at a price of P60,000.

He said everything was agreed upon and that he was only left with a small fraction of the amount when Makgalemele started rejecting the monthly instalments and refusing to hand over the blue book as agreed.
