BDP by-election hopeful claims Facebook hacking

PALAPYE: A Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) candidate for the Boikago-Madiba by-election, Thabo Dimeku, says his Facebook account was hacked by some unknown individuals who wanted to smear his name.

Addressing a BDP rally here on Friday, Dimeku warned members of his party against opposition party members saying they wanted to destroy his name so that he could lose elections.

Comical posts were made from Dimeku’s Facebook account a few weeks ago, after he emerged victorious in the BDP’s primary elections for the ward in December. Dimeku garnered 155 votes against Boitshoko Kinnear’s 148 and Malebogo Orapeleng’s 42 votes.
