BCP, UDC talks on course

FRANCISTOWN: The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) is optimistic that the coalition talks with the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) will start this month as earlier indicated.

But, as the BCP spokesperson Dithapelo Keorapetse has indicated, the Phillip Matante East ward by-elections may force the parties to halt the talks.

Both the UDC and BCP announced early this year that they would start coalition talks sometime in April.  The only snag could be that this is the month the parties are on the ground, campaigning for the April 23 by-elections.
