BCP MPs join UDC

The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) president, Dumelang Saleshando has written to Parliament Speaker, Gladys Kokorwe informing her to recognise their Members of Parliament (MPs) as members of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).

In a letter dated August 3, 2017, Saleshando stated: “Following the engagement between the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) and the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), it is my pleasure to inform you that the BCP members of the legislature should now be treated as members of the UDC.

You may kindly rearrange the sitting arrangements for the two MPs in recognition of our membership of the UDC”. BCP emerged from 2014 general elections badly bruised and managed only to win three constituencies.
