BCP may opt for private prosecution

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana Congress Party (BCP) may opt for private prosecution if the Attorney General delays prosecuting those implicated in the Francistown West bogus petition authored in 2013.

The petitioners forced the Office of the President to postpone the Francistown West by-election. Since the BCP reported the matter to the police in January 2014 none of the culprits have been charged, besides the police saying that they are investigating.  

In January this year the then police spokesperson Christopher Mbulawa said that the investigations of the case are complex and involve engagement of various experts.
