Bakgatla royals miss jail by a whisker

Bakgatla royals Kgosi Kgafela Kgafela II and Mmusi Kgafela yesterday avoided arrest by the skin of their teeth after their efforts to have a warrant of arrest on them suspended was accepted by Magistrate Lot Moroka.

The suspension of the arrest warrant was granted pending a hearing to be conducted this morning, in order for Moroka to hear explanations for the absence of the two.

Moroka had concluded that the two royals and their co-accused in the criminal case over the recent floggings in Mochudi should be arrested after they failed to attend court.
