Axe hangs over Vision 2016 staff

As the country celebrates 50th independence in 28 days, some staff members of the Vision 2016 Council will have nothing to celebrate as they join the dreaded ranks of unemployment, writes Staff Writer TSAONE BASIMABOTLHE

The council took the resolution to retrench staff members whom it felt their services will no longer be needed or cannot be absorbed by Vision 2036. The first staff member to be shown the door was Vision 2016 coordinator, Charity Kruger. Kruger has been on suspension, which the Vision Council chairperson has not explained to the board.

The minutes of Vision 2016 Council meeting which was chaired by chairperson Martin Makgatle held on August 12, 2016 say: “The current Vision comes to an end on 30th September 2016 and a new one will start immediately.
