Autism Botswana held a march in commemoration of the World Autism Day as part of its awareness campaigns billed for this month. The march commenced at the Attorney General Chambers and ended at the Three Dikgosi monument in the Central Business District Saturday yesterday morning.

Chairperson of Autism Botswana Monde Kote explained that autism is a growing health concern that the society needs to be aware of.

He said that there are signs that it is also on the rise in Botswana as many children are diagnosed with the disorder. He said that many people in Botswana are living with children suffering from autism but are unaware of the condition, mainly so because Botswana has been lagging behind in inclusive education for children living with autism.
