ATN warns street cigarette sellers

The Anti-Tobacco Network (ATN) has warned that a tobacco levy will be useless if street vendors continue to sell single cigarettes and small packages of tobacco products.

In an interview, Bontle Mbongwe, Director of the non-governmental organisation, said they were happy over the 30 % tobacco levy that President Ian Khama announced during his State Of The Nation Address.

During the address this week, Khama said they had been working on implementing tobacco prevention and control initiatives, one of them being the 30 % levy.
