Astley Gops strums tune for BMD

Local Afro-pop artist, Gopadileng Astley Gopadileng, also known as Astley Gops of 'Sebakanyana' fame, has declared his 'undying love' for the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD), the opposition party formed from a splinter group of the Botswana Democratic Party.

Since its formation, many prominent figures and eight Members of Parliament and councillors have defected to BMD, which appears to be rising to expectations as a credible opposition.

Many local artists who are still reeling from the severe effects of the Liquor Act enacted by the BDP government instantly depressed the music industry leaving other musicians fearful of uttering any word that would make them targets of political reprisal.
