Alliance for Progressives (AP) have announced their dramatic exit from co-operation talks with Botswana Congress Party (BCP) and the Botswana Labour Party (BLP).

In a statement released this evening, April 17 2023, the AP announced that they have withdrawn from the negotiations.

“The negotiation team met today to continue the talks. Both AP and BCP raised issues of concern with regards to the negotiations. AP informed the meeting that as a result of the issues of concern raised, AP central committee met on the 15 April 2023 and resolved to withdraw from the negotiations,” reads the statement I part.

The AP continued to add that “despite the AP’s decision to withdraw, the meeting resolved to urgently invite the three presidents to the negotiation table with the view to explore ways of getting the AP to review that decision.”

This is a developing story.
